To celebrate a year recognised for data visualisation and ‘connected self,’ Nike and AKQA have teamed up to develop a series of custom films for the most active Nike+ Running, Nike+ Training Club and Nike+ Fuel athletes in North America in a project titled Your Year.
AKQA developed the concept and overall creative direction for Your Year by turning Nike+ members' data into a one-of-a-kind film.
Each story highlighted in Your Year showcases a year of hard work through personalised data for an individual Nike+ member and uses 2014 data to challenge every athlete to “outdo you” in 2015.
Each one-minute film is created by using location, weather, activity, and individual movement data – developing a completely different film for each user. This is the first time that member data has been adapted into over 100,000 unique user films.
These films are the first of a series of initiatives to help motivate active Nike+ members to push the boundaries and set new goals for 2015.
In addition to the personalised films, Nike and AKQA developed specific videos honoring the achievements of four key cities: Chicago [above], Los Angeles, New York City [shown top] and Toronto.
Registered Nike+ members can see if they made the cut for a personalised video by clicking here.
