User generated footage is a huge part of modern gaming, and since the launch of Xbox Upload, a online sharing platform for self recorded gaming clips, one billion videos have been uploaded. Users are prompted to record their best efforts in games, may it be a high kill streak on Call of Duty, an amazing jump on Grand Theft Auto, or in Forzas’ case, a hot lap in the new Honda Civic Type R.

Starcom MediaVest Group has launched an exclusive interactive gaming experience between Honda and Microsoft advertising. In a media first Honda is taking over Xbox Upload, challenging users to perform a hot lap time trail around the Nürburgring in the new Honda Civic Type R in the popular Forza Motorsport 5.

In collaboration with Liquid Thread, SMGs activation team brought the partnership together creating brand awareness of Honda’s rich racing heritage.

The campaign is an extension of Weiden + Kennedy's popular online film The Other Side which launched earlier this year. The interactive gaming experience will be brought to life on the 17 December when Microsoft takes over SMGs café inviting staff and guests to take part.
