To celebrate its 20th anniversary, telecom giant Orange has launched an innovative campaign across Europe. Created in partnership with agency Publicis Conseil, the brand is inviting people to engage in a first of its kind technological journey.

Consumers are being given the chance to travel 20 years down the road to meet and speak with their future self, as part of the #Futureself campaign.

The extraordinary interactive experience asks users to take a picture of themselves, tell their age and gender, and let themselves be guided inside the world of 2034.

Canadian production studio Jam3 used Faceshift (facial motion capture software) on live actors to track and replicate facial muscle movement. Then using a combination of 3D rendering, aging simulation browser technologies like Google's speech API and WebGL, a 'living' speaking version of your future self appears, ready to have a conversation with your curious present self via webcam.

The FutureSelf project is not only a matter of technological performance; it is also a recreated artificial intelligence. Answers to the questions were written by humourists to create a double from the future capable of holding a never-ending conversation with the curious minds of the present.
