The Dubai Lynx Festival, the event to celebrate creative excellence in the Middle East and North Africa, culminated with its eighth annual awards ceremony last night (Wednesday 12 March) as four Grands Prix prizes were awarded at an eagerly anticipated ceremony.

The UAE took home the most trophies – followed by Lebanon and Egypt – on a night that saw 41 gold, 70 silver and 92 bronze prizes handed out in total.

Memac Ogilvy Tunisia won Grands Prix in both the Mobile and Media categories for its Mobilizing the 12th Man, which you can see a case study video summing up the work below.

The Print & Poster Craft Grand Prix was awarded to Impact BBDO Dubai for its Cimenterie Nationale caign featuring Referee, Best Actress of the Year and Politician’s Discourse pieces pictured below.

Speaking about the Print & Poster Craft Grand Prix, jury president Graham Fink, CCO of Ogilvy & Mather China, says: “This was a caign that the more we looked at it, the more it revealed itself. DDB Dubai picked up the Promo & Activation Grand Prix for its Preserving Pride work for Henkel (below).

 

Elsewhere, Network of the Year was awarded to Ogilvy & Mather and Memac Ogilvy Dubai scooped Agency of the Year.

Independent Agency of the Year went to Kairo Cairo and Starcom MediaVest Group Dubai was named Media Agency of the Year.

The Lynx Palm Award, won by the most awarded production company, was presented to Dé Ja Vu Dubai.

Eddie Moutran, chairman and CEO of Memac Ogilvy Group for the Middle East & North Africa, took to the stage to accept his award for Dubai Lynx Advertising Person 2014, and Land Rover were honoured as Advertiser of the Year, with Hannah Naji, marketing director for Jaguar Land Rover MENA, collected the award on behalf of the company.

Also announced on the night were the winners who triumphed in this year’s Young Lynx Competions.

Vishal Munyal, Sumanth Wilkins and Lara Agha, the team from UAE took gold in Integrated and in the inaugural Media Competition the team from the UAE, Amar Abou Zahr, and Nadim Karam, were honoured. The young team from Qatar, Tala Al Ali and Victor Haffling, won the new Print Competition.

Heela Daudzai was announced as the winner of the Dubai Lynx Masar Student Creative Award for Print and Shadan Khalaf won the first-ever du Integrated Student Award.

The ceremony was attended by over 1,800 people and saw 207 winners announced from a total of 2,279 pieces of work entered in 18 different countries.
