Yoox: BLACK GOLD

Italian e-tailer Yoox commissioned esteemed animator PES to create this short film to promote the hosting of a new jewellery range.

Entitled BLACK GOLD, the piece came to fuition at the request of renowned jewellery designer and fourth generation Fendi, Delfina Delettrez, to accompany the launch of her new line on the Yoox site. 

As a result, PES brings the insects from Delfina's jewellery to life in a surrealistic tableaux of death and decomposition. The entire film was shot in-camera and has zero computer-generated effects.

"I wanted  to create a surrealistic short film along the lines of a Dali or Bunuel, the influence of which can be felt strongly in Delfina's own jewellery," says PES. "Having carte blanche from made this project extremely appealing - they asked me to make whatever I wanted as long as I incorporated the insects."
