With its 53rd awards ceremony coming up on 15 May, the CLIO Awards reveals who’ll be taking a turn on stage and announces the 2012 winners.

This year Grand Clios will be handed out in just three categories – Film, Interactive, and Innovative Media. Chipotle claimed another prize as CAA and Nexus came top in Film for their Back to the Start animation, while the big winner in Interactive was Projector in Tokyo for the Intel Museum of Me project. The final Grand Clio, in Innovative Media, was scored by Memac Ogilvy Label from Tunisia – its campaign for Engagement Citoyen used a symbolic poster of former dictator Ben Ali to encourage citizens to vote.

BBDO New York has been named as Agency of the Year for its creative work with brands including HBO, AT&T and FedEx, while Smuggler is Production Company of the Year. Ogilvy & Mather claims Network of the Year while Volkswagen adds another award to its collection as Advertiser of the Year.

The awards will take place on 15 May at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC and will be hosted by comedian Joan Rivers. On the night Piyush Pandey of Ogilvy & Mather India will be presented with the CLIO Lifetime Achievement Award, while photographer Annie Leibovitz and TV chef Anthony Bourdain will be given Honorary CLIOs.
