The Eurobest Festival drew to a close last night with the announcement of the 2011 winners at a much-anticipated awards ceremony at the São Luiz Theatre in Lisbon.

With 398 winners from over 4800 entries, the glittering Film Grand Prix win for Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam’s The Legendary Making of the Date was a standout win on the night and Amsterdam also triumphed in the Interactive Agency of the Year category with the award handed to Tribal DDB.

The Interactive Grand Prix, however, saw London agency Hypernaked crowned for its Push snowboarding project for Nokia and AKQA London took a Grand Prix in Mobile, also for Heineken and its StarPlayer Champions League football game.

Marcel Paris was presented with the prestigious Agency of the Year Award and Fred & Farid of the same city took a Craft Grand Prix for its Wrangler work. DDB emerged as the top Network.

The Promo & Activation Grand Prix went to McCann Erickson Bucharest for its American Rom campaign for Kandia Dulce, the company that was also named Advertiser of the Year. Elena Petrea, senior brand manager, and Gianina Popescu, brand manager, were both present to receive the accolade for the company on stage.

Other Grands Prix were awarded to DDB Stockholm for the Volkswagen Sweden campaign The Winter Adjusted Offer in Outdoor; TRY/APT Oslo for Solo/Ringnes, Soon to be World Famous, in Media; and in PR to Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett Zürich for Holidays without Internet for Switzerland Tourism.

On a night when Germany took home the most awards (103 trophies), followed by France (52), Sweden (41), Belgium (36) and United Kingdom (33), there were no Grands Prix awarded in the Film Craft, Direct, Integrated or Print sections.

The awards ceremony, which drew the three-day festival to a close, also saw the winners of the Young Creatives Competition announced and presented with their medals. Italy took gold with the team from Norway coming in second and Russia in third.

Following the event, delegates were invited to celebrate at the Eurobest after party at Baixa/Chiado PT Bluestation, one of Lisbon’s metro stations, a unique venue where food and drinks were served for the celebrations to continue.

Full lists of winners and work are now available to view online, along with photos, videos and interviews from the Festival.
