What is the best and worst thing about working in advertising in New York?
The thing I hate the most is that it attracts all the bright, creative and ambitious young people, leaving us with the slow and self-obsessed to become our artists. Modern art is a disaster area. ‘Never in the field of human history has so much been used by so many to say so little…’ – a quote from Banksy that sums up my point of view.
What advice would you give to a visitor?
Walk in Central Park, go to Brooklyn and visit Babycakes, a vegan, gluten-free bakery on Broome and Orchard.
If you were booking a hotel in New York, where would you choose to stay?
Robert de Niro’s The Greenwich Hotel or Andre Balazs’s Mercer Hotel.
What do you miss when you are out of the city?
Grass-fed beef & Polarity Therapy.
What is the best American ad you have seen in the last few months?
I loved the ad/trailer for video game Dead Island, directed by Axis who are represented by Rhea Scott at Little Minx/RSA. bit.ly/axis129
