It’s not only directing duos that work at ACNE, but maybe there’s something in the ACNE air that makes partnerships thrive. Ensrettet is another ACNE directing double-act that has carved a niche for itself in the market. Daniel Skoglund and Linnea Bergman met at college 10 years ago and have been working together ever since.

After starting out as graphic designers, they made the step into motion graphics and from there to commercials, “although it’s only been the last two or three years that we’ve really gotten into the commercials industry”, says Skogland. “We love working in commercials,” he continues, “because there’s more room to experiment. We like to try different ideas and work with different styles, and you can do that a lot more in commercials than you can in typography.”

As with everyone you speak to at ACNE, Ensrettet, who has been signed to the company for three years, loves working in this creative hothouse. “It’s different,” says Bergman, “chaotic sometimes, but in a good way. There are so many different directions you can take here. It’s a very creative place to be.”Skoglund and Bergman are obviously easy in each other’s company, making jokes and interrupting one another on occasion. They split the questions they are asked between them and then say that this is pretty much how they work too.

“We split the responsibility when we’re on a project, and when we’re brainstorming or coming up with ideas for something we split that too. We work together, equally, on everything,” says Bergman.

As for the name, it’s been with them since they were in college and, as Skogland says, “it’s a bit too late to change it now”. It’s actually Danish and means ‘one-way street’ and, while it’s a little bit hard to get your tongue around, we have a feeling you’ll be hearing it a lot more in the future.
