Cadbury Launches Search for New Milk Tray Man
Actor James Coombes returns after 13 years in new TV spot but the star of latest campaign could be you.
The UK's most famous chocolate brand, Cadbury, has launched a nationwide search for a person to play an updated version of its iconic Milk Tray Man character, who first appeared on TV screens in the late-80s.
Announced in a new TV spot taking inspiration from the first Milk Tray Man ad of 1987, the hunt will see the brand invite applications from members of the public to play the smooth and seductive hero.
Coombes picked up the iconic role as the Milk Tray Man in 1987.
Opening on Coombes viewing some of the classic Cadbury ads for its trademark box of chocolates, the actor turns to the camera to finish the famous endline - "And all because the lady loves Milk Tray" - before delivering a speech about how you could win the chance to play him.
The 30-second piece is set in a Bond-esque bachelor pad and directed by Tomas Skoging of Industry Films. Fans can also nominate people who they think might be fit to live up to Coombes' reputation in the role.
