The eagle-eyed out there may have noticed something strange happening to iconic brands and street names in London recently.

Letters from the likes of Odeon Cinema, Green & Black’s, Notonthehighstreet.com and the Prime Minister's residence of Downing Street have been disspearing and the reason for the strange stunts has finally emerged. It turns out it's not a letter-hating theif loose on the streets of the UK's capital but instead a clever campaign rolled out by WCRS.

The agency, along with several brands decided to remove the letters A, O and B from the brands and company signs, to reflect the different blood types to help the public recognise the hugely important role that blood donation plays in society and encourage them to get out and give blood.

The campaign kicked off during National Blood Week (9-15 June) and aims to recruit 204,000 new donors to replace people who can’t donate anymore.
