shots Awards 2013 Winners Announced
The shots Awards 2013 winners were announced last night. Here be who won, what won and photos of the winners.
The shots Awards 2013 took place last night (Thursday 28) and Advertising’s Biggest Night of Disappointment became Advertising’s Biggest Night of Celebration as a packed house of creatives, directors, producers, editors and more came together at 8 Northumberland Avenue London.
Hosted again by Georgie Okell the event kicked off with a champagne reception and some pre-party canapés before the serious business of the Awards themselves began. Our panel of international judges had pored over the shortlists, cast their votes and after their expertise and insight - and true to our word - there were 14 categories and only 14 winners, but extremely well-deserved winners they were.
First up was Post Production House of the Year which was won by MPC London who triumphed in a very strong field with an extremely strong body of work. Gravity Road and Independent Films picked up the award for Branded Short Film of the Year for the excellent, mind-bending Bombay Sapphire film, Room 8.
Animated Commercial of the Year went to Wizz Paris for Deezer Music Unleashed while, in the music categories BBH London's The Most Radicalists Black Sheep Music had a good night winning Best Use of Bespoke Music and Best Use of Commercial Music for Barclay’s Premier League Love is Tough and Johnnie Walker From the Future respectively.
In the Interactive/Experiential Campaign of the Year category Ogilvy Brazil continued their 2013 haul for the excellent Dove Real Beauty Sketches while AKQA London and Great Guns collected the award for Mobile Campaign of the Year for Nike Hypershield.
2013’s Editor of the Year was won by 2011 shots Award-winner Paul Hardcastle of Trim Editing while in Director of the Year Biscuit’s Noam Murro was triumphant. New Director of the Year went to Brewer for the Passion Pit promo Carried Away while the extremely toughly contested TVC of the Year was won by W+K London and Nexus London for Honda Hands.
Our special award for Client of the Year was given to Samsung for a broad swathe of creative work they and their agency partners have created over the course of the last 12 months.
The final two categories of the night were Production Company of the Year and Agency of the Year. MJZ Los Angeles picked up the former while Wieden+Kennedy London won out in the latter.
And that was that; some tears, lot of cheers and thankfully no jeers (and certainly nothing like this) before we headed downstairs to be entertained at the Offroad Films-sponsored after party with entertainment from Warner Music’s Sam and the Womp and DJ MNRS and the ever-popular Taylor James-sponsored photobooth.
From there it gets a bit hazy but if you need some reminding of what happened at the after party then you can check out the photos here plus the peruse photos of our winners here.
This is the thank you bit: Thanks to all those who entered this year’s Awards, to all our judges who helped choose the winners, to our sponsors and partners who helped make the event such a success, to BETC London and MJZ London for The Good Loser film and, of course, to everyone who turned up on the night to help us and all the winners celebrate - we hope your heads are as sore as ours!
Same time next year?
